Gender

  1. Personal pronouns can be masculine or feminine – Those ending in o are male, those ending in a are female.  i.e. nosotros, nosotras; ellos, ellas.  
  2. The feminine form is used to refer to an all-female group (i.e. vosotras, nosotras), otherwise when the group is all male, or mixed (males and females), the masculine form is used (vosotros, nosotros). 
  3. Usted is the singular of (you)……. the plural of you (2+ people ), is ustedes or vosotros. 
  4. Ustedes is used In Latín América and the United States, Vosotros/(as)is used in Spain
