Karen was born in Honduras, Central America and moved with her family to Victoria, BC in 1982. She is a native Spanish speaker and studied teaching at the University of British Columbia.
Before teaching, Karen was an interpreter and a translator for the Latin community in Victoria and Vancouver for 10+ years.
Karen loves learning about other cultures, collecting old books, and walking in nature.
